The IDEA Debate Exchange 2016 will take place from July 26 to August 2 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The organizers will offer an interesting and diverse program of workshops, practice opportunities, social events and a proper excursion into the countryside.
The Finnish Debating Association, as an official partner has been given four (4) spots to attend the event for free. Moreover, they will also be able to get a travel subsidy: they will refund up to 50% of their travel costs, with a total maximum refund of €150 per person. APPLY HERE until June 5, 23:59.
The IDEA Debate Exchange 2016 will be held in Sofia from July 26 until August 2 and is hosted by the Sofia Debate Association. Participants from 17 debate organisations will take part in workshops, seminars and training sessions on new methods to promote debate, improve training skills and strengthen debate organisations. The Exchange offers sessions in three different tracks: debate training, debate organising and debate promotion.
The IDEA Debate Exchange aims to increase cooperation between student debate organisations in Europe and to strengthen their organisations, their reach and effectiveness. The participants will be able to exchange experiences and practices based on their work in different countries. You can read more in the project’s website.
Eligible to apply are all the debaters in Finland and everyone is encouraged to apply. APPLY HERE until June 5, 23:59.
The selection criteria are the following:
– Debate Society diversity: equal opportunities to all the societies to have at least one person participating;
– Gender equal representation: equal opportunities to all genders;
– Experience and/or willingness to engage at local societies: applicants who have been involved or plan to be in administrative and/or training level in their local societies will be prioritized.
